Reprint of the work printed in Venice in 1722, listing by their cities of origin thousands of gentlemen which for centuries wore the mantel of the order hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem (better known as Sovereign Military Order of Malta) and the Tuscan chivalric order of Saint Stephen: for each knight the date of ammission to the order is provided, allowing us to reconstruct a sort of map of the Italian élites during the centuries.
