Reprint of this rare work, published without date around the middle Seventeenth Century and often bound in the same volume with the similar compilation by the same knight Jean Baptiste L’Hermite de Soliers, La Toscane françoise (1656), which bears the more elaborated title La Ligurie françoise / Contenant / les Eloges Armes et Blazons / Des Plus Illustres Seigneurs de / la Republique de Genes qui Ont / esté Affectionnés a la Couronne / De france. It deals with the historical facts of a certain number of prominent families of Ligurian ancestry and of the most illustrious members of each house, whose coat-of-arms is engraved: such as Grimaldi, Doria, Spinola, Fiesque (Fieschi), Cybo, Ornano, Carreto (Del Carretto), Miolans, Foresta, Grille (Grillo), Palavissin (Pallavicino), Adorne (Adorno), Ruvere (Della Rovere), Fregose (Fregoso), Vento, Lercare (Lercaro), Chiavary (Chiavari), Lomelino (Lomellini).
