Reprint of the celebrate treatise first published in Milan in 1803, soon followed by two other editions in Naples in 1811 and 1814: this is the reprint of the last one. The work is by the Grison gentleman Giuseppe Rosaroll Scorza (1775-1825), which served firstly in the Borbonic Army before adhering to the Partenopean Republic and finally escaping to France where he took part in the Napoleonic and Muratian epopea, being raised to the title of baron for his military achievements. After the restoration of the House of Bourbon to the throne of the Two Sicilies, he went back to his first army, but he was soon forced to fly at the arrival of the Austrian forces in Naples; he enrolled then in the constitutional militia in Spain in 1822-23, only for ending his life as a ungraduated soldier fighting for the independence of Greece. Notwithstanding his herratic life he was able to have printed several works on military issues, and among them, with his fellow Pietro Grisetti, this Scienza della Scherma that was a real bestseller.
