This curious manuscript, known for having been spread between the Seventeenth and the Eighteenth Centuries in numerous copies, reports, better than pieces of news, genealogical gossip about some seventy families aspiring to a noble status, but with ascendancies – at least in the opinion of our anonimous author – far less illustrious than they tried to pretend, and in a few cases even with Jewish ancestors. Many are the genealogical data referred in this manuscript, very interesting also from a sociological point of view for better comprehending the development of the Neapolitan society.
