In this work, Vincenzo Maria Coronelli provides an introduction to the elements of the blazon, the crests and the crowns of the lay dignitaries and the insignia of the ecclesiastical roles, after which follow 78 arms of the cities of the Veneto region, drawn by the cosmographer Father Vncenzo Coronelli. The volume also includes 930 arms belonging to the Venetian Patrician Families, with a description of the various blazon variants attributed to the numerous branches of these families (the Contarini, for example, have at least twenty) and of the illustrious foreigners ascribed to the Patriciate of the Serenissima. There is also a plate illustrating the arms of the noble families of Legnago.
