This volume contains 149 coats of arms belonging to the families which contributed one, or more than one, senator to Florence. The names of the senators and their dates of office - collected by Ferdinando Leopoldo del Migliore, better known as the author of Firenze città nobilissima illustrata - are documented in its pages. This volume was of much help to Aby Warburg, who quoted it in his seminal essays on the artistic links of patronage between Florence and the Flanders.
