Reprint of the Serie dei Dogi di Venezia intagliati in rame first published in 1840 by Nani. All the portraits, engraved following the features of those once in the Sala del Maggior Consiglio before being destroyed by the fire occurred in the years 1577-78 for the older ones, or deriving them from more fiable sources for the more recent ones, are embellished with the coat of arms of the Doge - the real one or anyway that given him by tradition -, and are accompained by a biographical notice.
