This very important Sixteenth Century Armorial is in fact a priorista, as it lists, along with the coat of arms of each family, the names and years of charge of priori and gonfalonieri di giustizia provided by each family to the Florentine Republic in the years between the institution of the Priorato delle Arti (1282) and the Medicean ducate (1532).

This voluminous manuscript in-folio belonged to the House of Ricasoli Firidolfi: in the appendix is reproduced the handwritten index of the coats of arms compiled between the end of the Nineteenth Century and the beginning of the following by a renowned gentleman-scholar, prince Tommaso Corsini (1835-1919), father in law of baron Giovanni Ricasoli Firidolfi Zanchini Marsuppini Salviati Acciaiuoli (1860-1901). As many as 1021 are the coats of arms, and with all the priori e gonfalonieri are also recorded the other conspicuous members, both laical and ecclesiastical, while particular attention is obviously given to the House of Medicis.
Fourth volume, after those dedicated to Florence, Bologna and Venice, of The European Edition of the Sources for Heraldry and Genealogy conserved in Private Collections, this one stands alone for the exceptional relevance of the document as well for its bigger dimensions: this codex of magnificent beauty is in fact reproduced in full colour in a book bigger (34x23 cm) than the others in this same series. It is printed on a special ivory paper in order to simulate, nearly a facsimile, its caracter of refinement typical of this sort of Almanachs de Gotha of the Florentine Patriciate, duly owned by every family of a certain rank in their archives and libraries, in the town palaces or in the castles of the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
Bound in azure cloth with the titles imprinted in gold and protected by a transparent dustjacket, this imposing volume is also provided with similarly azure cloth slipcase for a better conservation and an even more elegant presentation: in order to be, as well as an essential reference book for every scholar of Tuscan history and art historian, a luxurious object and a wonderful idea for an important gift. 576 pages, 34x23 cm, cloth-bound, transparent dustjacket, cloth-bound slipcase, printed on ivory paper in only 500 numbered copies.
